General Rules

  1. Strict silence should be observed within the library. The member must produce his/her identity card when demanded by the library staff. Mobile phones must be kept in silent mode.
  2. Smoking,eating,sleeping and talking loudly inside the library are strictly prohibited.
  3. Alumni of our college can access the central library and use the library materials on the premises with the prior permission from the competent authority. Before using the library, he/she needs to submit a declaration form, available with the librarian.
  4. Students have to produce the Library Card for entering the library.
  5. Every member must sign the register available at the entrance and exit.
  6. Books will be issued to only individuals and not to groups or others.
  7. Newspapers and Magazines and Journals must be read only in the specific zone and should not be taken to any other reading area.
  8. Bags/personal books or journals will not be allowed inside the library.
  9. The Library Card is not transferable and its loss must immediately be reported to the library. User will be held responsible for misuse of his/her Library Card.
  10. Journals, Magazine, Newspaper, reports will not be issued for home.
  11. Misbehavior or misconduct in the library will force library staff to confiscate the Library Card besides prohibiting such student from using the library service.

Library hour – College Hours (From 10.30 a.m. to5.30 p.m.)

 Issue time:                    From 1.30 p.m.to 3.30 p.m.

Deposit time:               From 10.30 a.m.to 1.00 p.m.

 

Circulation Rules

Numbers of Books Allowed to Various Members:

  1. A. (Honours) – 3 Books    for     15 Days
  2. A. (General) – 2 Books    for     15 Days
  • Sc. (Honours) – 3 Books    for     15 Days
  1. Sc. (General) – 2 Books    for     15 Days
  2. Com. (Honours) – 3 Books for     15 Days
  3. Com. (General) -2 Books for     15 Days
  • Staff
  1. Teaching Faculty -08for06 Months (for a semester)
  2. Non-Teaching Staff -05for60 Days
  • If a member wishes to keep the book after one renewal, he/she has to produce the book in the library and get it reissued (if available).
  • A fine of Rs. 1/-(one Rupee) per day will be levied on the borrower, if the borrowed book is kept beyond the due date stamped.
  • A book which is temporarily on special demand may be lent for a shorter period than what is prescribed. The librarian may at any time terminate the loan or reduce the loan period as the situation demands.
  • Reference books will not be issued for home. These are only issued for reading in the specified reading room.
  • No book shall be issued which is not in good condition for safe handling.Condition of the books will be decided by the librarian.
  • Books on display can be reserved by filling-in the requisition slip at the circulation counter. Reserved books are kept separately in the circulation counter for two days for each member. If the book is not collected, the reservation gets lapsed after two days and the next person gets the chance.
  • In case of loss of Library Card, the member must report the same to the librarian. A duplicate ticket may be issued against the payment of Rs. 50/-.
  • If a book / book borrowed from the library is/are lost, the matter must be reported to the librarian immediately. The member has to replace the same or later edition of the same book lost/damaged within a week’s time. If the replacement is not possible, the following will be the procedure to recover the cost of the lost/damaged book/books.
  1. For Foreign book: the cost of the book converted as per the current conversion rate of the foreign currency plus three times of the cost.
  2. For the Indian Book: Printed price of the book plus three times of the price.
